I have walked past here 1000 times and finally decided to stop in. Very crowded and busy. The pizza-making guys were flat out. Service was quick and they kept my beer coming. Pizza was very good and I enjoyed the whole experience.

Overall Rating: 4

I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions. Frankly, I was surprised to read the review by markthepoint about rude comments by the owner and mistakes by the staff. Either he is terribly unlucky or I am very lucky, because I have only had very good service there, and the manager (maybe the owner, I'm not sure, but always the same guy) has been nothing if not considerate and accommodating.

As for food, I have only had pizza there. That was my reason for going the first time. They have some fancy, carousel, wood fired, computerized, all singing and dancing oven that is supposed to ensure a perfectly done crust, Neapolitan-styled. I was pretty impressed. I like lots of veggies on my pizza, and they tend to throw a lot of water, which often makes for a soggy, runny center. Not so with their pizza. The only time I was not 100% happy with my pizza was when I ordered ham and thought it was a bit salty for my taste, but it is not uncommon for me to think that of ham. Shame on me.

I did enjoy their house wine. Their red, instead of a traditional Chianti, is 100% Sangiovese, and goes surprisingly well with the pizza. Good choice.

But now the downside. The wine is expensive, and the beer is outrageously expensive. And that is even before they add the 10% service fee and the 7% tax. If you are the type that likes to go and unwind with friends over a beer or three before you order your food, this place becomes less attractive.

What has happened to me on occasion is that, while I intend to go to Basilico's, I stop at PanPan first, because their beer is reasonably priced (and they are super-friendly people, too), and then end up eating at PanPan.

By rights, this restaurant should rate a 4, but for the beer/wine prices. That element does take away from the total experience.

Overall Rating: 3

Only had take away and it was good. it is always busy but I prefer Pan Pan right next door. Food is better and a lot cheaper.

Overall Rating: 2

Personally everytime I have been here I have been dissapointed. From rude comments from the owner to mistakes by the staff to my food being far too salty. However it always seems to be busy so it must be doing something right

Overall Rating: 1
