I tried this bar after reading WW’s review. In the past, I have found that he and I seem to see things alike when it comes to bars.

I visited late afternoon, and arrived with a friend to an empty bar. Wait staff was competent though not stellar. After a few beers, we shared a pizza and a burger. Burger was moderate in size, heavy on fillers, light on beef. Pizza was thin of crust and topping, bland actually. I ate mine only after DUMPING loads of ground chili pepper on it.

Later, more patrons started arriving. Seemed that many knew each other. It appears to me that this is a corner-styled bar. Good for regulars, but just a beer break for others … with very mediocre food.

Seems to me that if you are not part of the “in crowd” there, why bother.

    Conclusion: Not recommended

I used to live on Soi 22 and was a semi-regular at this pub. In fact, this is where I spent my birthday in 2007.

I reckon it’s one of those great little pubs where the owner does everything right. It’s clean and well designed and presented, the service staff are friendly, though sometimes a bit slow to recognize that a refill is needed.

I’ve eaten there many times, and while the menu isn’t mind-blowing, the food is well prepared and always served fresh and hot, with generous portions.

I particularly enjoy the music in this place, which is a great blend of jazz, blues, classic rock and offbeat, seldom-heard tunes (ie. Year of the Cat by Al Stewart). I also like the fact that it’s loud enough to hear without being loud enough to impede a pleasant conversation.

The entire interior is polished wood, with a lot of cash spent on the look. It has nice touches, such as a dimmer switch for the light over your table. Turn the light up to read the newspaper and down if you want to hold hands with your teerak.

The dartboard has been in constant use on nearly every visit.

I suspect that this bar, as well run as it is, would be much more popular if it were located 200 meters closer to Sukhumvit Road, but overall it’s a great little bar, with good music, good food, polite service and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere.

The owner once told me that he has some accommodation available on the third floor above the restaurant as well, so it can serve as a decent home-base for your holiday if that’s your style.

I had heard a lot about this place and happened to be wandering by the other day so decided to pop in and give it a whirl.

The place has been around a long time and steeped in old school ambiance. I enjoyed just hanging out, reading my paper and sipping a drink.

Problem is then I got hungry and decided I needed to eat. I went for the hamburger for some reason even though there was a big menu and plenty to try.

The burger was okay - not bad but nothing amazing either. It won’t stop me from coming back though to possibly try the breakfast and to just hang out.

I only use this cinema as its walking distance from where I live, else I would not come here that often. The popcorn and drinks are overpriced compared to SFX Cinemas, and I dont think the sound systems are that good compared to others. I opten for 170baht tickets, as opposed to the 120baht ones and couldn't tell the difference Emporium cinema which is 2 stops down the BTS line is a far better bet IMHO

Went here last night and had a great time Cracked open a bottle of Red Label for 1200baht, but I'll be buggered if I can remember how much the mixers were. Fairly inexpensive though. Music was pumping and the place was packed on a Sunday night. Loads of hot young girls, and the guys here don't make you feel unwelcome. The service here is really good too This was my first trip back here in 6months, but definately wont wait that long until my next visit The fried chicken cart at the end of RCA is awesome aswell, especially after you chuck a load of beer n whisky down your throat

Kinda hard to review a BTS station. All BTS stations are carbon copies virtually, but the one thing I love about Nana station, is not only the womans computerised voice 'Next sation NAAAAANAAAAA, but if you pass through it from around 5-6pm, you will spot the hordes of poorly dressed sex-tourists, burly ladyboys and Thai/Russian hookers using the station to get too and from their respective houses of ill repute. Great for people watching.

I heard about this place some time ago .. kinda dismissed it .. but I decided to give it a try tonight because I was close. Just another reservation joint, right? WRONG... Surprise to me .. this place has atmosphere and character ... attentive and engaging staff ... fair prices ... full amenities and good food. My only regret is that I went too early and apparently missed an evening BBQ that was just warming up when I was already stuffed. My only gripe with this place is that they use fillers/preseasoning in their burgers, like most everywhere in Bangkok. In fact, in the three years I have lived here, I have only found two restaurants that don't do that. But if only for that, they are not perfect. Rating: 4. I will be going back! Conclusion: HIGHLY recommended

I loved the first Transformers and high hope for this one. This one was crap Thought the stroryline was weak and the film dragged on WAY too long. 2 and a half to 3 hours long. They had too many bad-guys that all looked the same it was hard to keep track on what was going on, as things didnt move along smoothly. Some of the acting and characters were pretty poor too The SFX were absolutely awesome, so that saved the film slightly for me, but it was a bit of a snoozer. Shame

The highlight here is the chicken. Period. Usually I get my guard to go and get the chicken for me, but I had a pal in town the other night and we swung by. I had no idea that the place did more than the chicken and was pleasantly surprised by the pork tom yum soup and the fish cakes The service is friendly and at 500 baht for two including beers, good value for money. The secret is to get the thai menu so you can order all the other good stuff that's not on the english menu

I have a love/hate relationship with Paragon On one hand, the place is awesome, as it is crawling with painfully hot uni/office/shop girls, theres a really good and cheap foodcourt (plus loads of highstreet restaurants) in the basement, a swanky but inexpensive cinema on the top floor, a California WOW Gym and a huge department store. On the other hand, the majority of the shops are super expensive (Prada/Rolex/Bang & Olufsen etc etc) a lot of people walking round with attitudes (despite not being able to afford anything), the place can get super crowded, its kinda hard to navigate your way around, and a lot of tourists with huge backpacks stopping in the middle of walkways with their videocameras out (dickheads) For a cheap bite to eat and an easy place to meet someone, I like Paragon, but I dont like to spend TOO much time there

I really like the vibe in this shopping centre. They have quite a good 'Central' Department store on the East side, all the big named restaurants, fast-food and branded clothes shops, and a more 'Thai' style shopping area with FoodCellar in the basement. In the evenings and weekends the ground floor is usually full of promotional stands etc so it gets really busy. Because there is a handful of Universities nearby, the place is always HEAVING with cute young girls. Really easy to get to from Pohan Yothin MRT too. There is a cool restaurant in the 3rd or 4th floor of the Central Department store called 'The Terrace' which is really funky. Its well priced, good food, offers a great view over the city, and on maybe 4 out of my 6-7 visits, have had a celeb or 2 hanging out

Was going to see the film 'UP' but turned up too late so decided to catch this one instead. From a ninja/karate/vampire film, I wasn't expecting anything to rock my world, and it surely didn't. Some of the fighting scenes were really cool, as the girl went about kicking that ass, and slashing a load of vampires to shit, but it was often let down by some comically bad SFX. Im talking bargain basement effects that were commonplace 15years ago Storyline was weak, and the acting was pretty sub-par. If you want to see a cute Jap chick stabbing zombies in the face then this is your film, but if you expect anything else, you'll be let down

Stayed here for 1 night on my way home recently as a change from my usual cheapie accommodation. The room was a little small but very comfortable, can't fault the amenities though. My only complaint would be that breakfast is not included in the price (1750 baht/night). However the restaurant is open 24/7 which is useful when you need breakfast before an early flight. The breakfast was very good by the way. Had a problem with the power going off but that wasn't the hotels fault. Guest friendly, but they have to leave Id at the desk. I would be happy to stay there again except I'm too much of a cheap charlie, I prefer to spend my money on 'other' attractions.
