have been here twice in the last month, and on both occassions the food was excellent, and the music very good. I especially like the tables near the river. Had difficulty getting there though, as not many taxi drivers in sukhumvit area, either know it or are prepared to drive there, which is a shame.

We were looking to eat on the river and tried to find Bura Tara. We did but decided to have dinner here and dessert at Buri Tara. This is a typical Thai style joint on the river. Nice outdoor seating by the river, good food and a decent menu. NOthing to really shout about. There are better options when it comes to the food but the views are nice, prices are reasonable and it works for chilling out. Service was okay - nothing exceptional.

Stopped in here last night - not for dinner but coffee and dessert. This is place is owned by the same guy who started the Song Salueng nightclub. The decor is hip, concrete minimalist - I like it. Right on the water with a subdued chillout feel. Mosquitoes were out though but hey - it is Bangkok. The menu is huge and looks interesting. Dessert and coffees were good so I am guessing so is the food. Live music was alright but it is low key so I did not even notice it. They play chill out stuff between sets. If you want a cool place to take people by the river and you are not trying to be cheap - this place will do the trick!

I have not actually been to the place but I have had 2 takeaway meals and this is some tasty food. Islamic dishes - like someone would make at home. My plan is to go in person soon and really chow down.

Stayed here on my first trip to Bangkok, so has a special place in my heart. The guy I travelled with was a Business Travel Agent, so we paid a pittance for a standard room (maybe a quarter of the standard rate) and was upgraded to a high end suite with access to the complimentary cocktail lounge from 5-8pm (Horizion Club I think the name was) Really slick hotel, and great service

A wonderful riverside setting compliments the incredible Thai food available here. I've visited this restaurant several times and have always come away happy. For me the best table locations are outside by the river, with a view of the bridge. If possible, try and call ahead and reserve a table.

I first went to the Good View in Chiang Mai which is one of my favorite joints to hang out in. Only recently have I been to the one on Bangkok. Same deal really - just a different setting. This venue is much bigger and sits next to the river. Same menu I think, live bands, beer, awesome desserts and so on. Nothing in and of itself is utterly fantastic but the whole package is decent and worth checking out. Fun to take newbies to Thailand here since it feels like it would be a place they might not find on their own. Fun place with a large group to pass the evening away.

I first discovered this place a few years back whilst attending a friend's birthday party. Sure there are a lot of seafood restaurants around the river but this one has something a little special. An amazing view of the bridge and a quiet spot on the river. Food is pretty good. No MSG and open pit grills for the fish. They have a nice outdoor seating area, a band on almost every night and decent service. When you arrive at Samsen soi 3 you may think you are in the wrong spot but the restaurant is at the very end of the soi and you will appreciate the location even more once you see the views.
