Chopsticks:
A nice quiet location on the Cheap Charlies sub-soi of Sukhumwit Soi 11. The owner of the place put in a decent effort to create a relaxed atmosphere inside the restaurant.
The menu has most of the basics you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. The magaritas are noteworthy. Overall a bit pricey, but there really aren't that many choices for Mexican grub in BKK.

I was at a friends house a few nights back and he had acraving for mexican food.
I warned him the only mexican we could get delivered was Sunrise and there delivery is poor and food worse. Despite better judgement we ordered.
I asked to order in english and they asked me to 'wait a moment' 5 whole minutes later an indian guy came on the fone and fumbled through our order
My mate lives on sukhumvit 24 and it still took these clowns 90minutes plus to deliver just 6 streets down. The food was cold, and the portions were laughable. Plus they slapped a 150baht surcharge on for delivery as our order was 'too' low (they only called to tell us 60minutes after ordering)
The delivery is laughable and the food is GRIM
easybullet3:
this is only good because its 24 hours.
if you want mexican food during regular restaurant hours, then go elsewehere.
guacamole portions are small.
often the mango salsa is slighthly rancid (you can taste that it is fizzy).
far too many onions in the veggie filling.
complicated ordering system that the staff cant eeven do correctly!! if you are a few people and you order a selection of things, they often get it wrong.
but above all, I have heard a few times now that the owner is an ar*hole to his staff.he swears at them and is rude to them often. so I dont really want to suport a restaurant that has someone like this for an owner.

werewolf called it as the owner of most of the Subways owns Sunrise Tacos. The meals have gotten worse and the delivery is quite possibly the worst ever. The first and last time I ordered and had them deliver it was more than an hour and the food was cold and all the chips soggy. I will say I do like eating there after I pour a bunch of booze down my throat but other than that it just is not worth it. Maybe Taco Bell is going to open here soon.....the ultimate after drinking feed.

Despite having a dissapointing meal in the Paragon branch 2-3 weeks back, I really fancied some Mexican food and was too lazy to leave my house to try somewhere new so I ordered in.
The guy on the phone taking orders spoke poor english and no Thai, despite there website only being available in English. After 15minutes and nearly giving up on him I managed to place my order and he said it would be delivered 40-60 minutes later.
1hour 20 later the delivery driver called me and from what I could gather he couldnt find my address. I rang the office back and after 4-5 calls back and forth and with them getting snotty they said he was at Sukhumvit soi XX, and not Pohan Yothin soi XX (where i live)
A further 30minutes later and almost 2hours after ordering my soggy nachos and now soggy Tacos arrived.
As Werewolf said there 'superhot sauce' was barely tangy, and I Just get the feeling they use low-rate ingredients as it tasted like a microwave meal.
Most restaurants are lucky to get a second chance after a bad experience, but i definately wont give them a 3rd

In my experience, this has got progressively worse over the years. A couple of years ago it was just a small outlet with a few bar stools - the food was excellent and not just because Mexican food was a rarity in Bangkok. Their business has grown and now they have a proper sit down restaurant accross the soi. However, the food as gotten exceptionally bland as pointed out by other reviewers, one of whom told me (in person) that they have changed their supplier to save money. I think this was a big mistake. Certainly the facilities have improved. I used to love this place but the last two times I have taken a friend there (one thai, one farang) to introduce them to the delights of mexican food I have been embarrassed by the mediocre fare.

Don't like it at all:
1. food so-so
2. pushy farang manager?
3. no atmosphere
The good news is that 2 doors down there is a pharmacy that sells a very effective anti-acid fo 20 baht. You will certaily need this if you eat at Sunrise Taco #1

Great place to go after a night of boozing. 3 tacos for 139 baht, not bad. Apple pie is pretty good too and a bottomless cup of coffee.

Been in Larrys a few times when i lived on soi22 and they do some really good grub. Nothing groundbreaking, but good honest Mexican grub. Also they have a big menu of wings, ribs, burgers and steaks, that kind of deal, and fairly well priced.
You get a lot of ex-pat families go there with theres kids which is always a good sign.
You can tell the owner puts in a lot of effort as they have the comedy style placemats and a few promotions and stuff.
Last year they had a free buffet between 5-7pm although that may of changed, and they have the beer challenge where if you drink 3 pitchers of there beer in an hour u get a free tshirt and the beer free. They write your name on the wall if you do it although the wall is pretty sparse of names.

I have yet to go to this restaurant when it has been busy! Strange, because the food has always been good. Maybe its because you have to go into the Hotel, up the stairs & search for it. It is a fully themed Mexican Restaurant, with all the staff dressed as Mexicans, quite a novelty! The food really is authentic Mexican, & you can see the chefs cooking away, which I always like to see. The Margueritas are well made by the Bar Staff, who are all very friendly. 5 Stars would have been given, but I have yet to see it busy & buzzing with the amosphere it deserves.
