Stayed here in Feb 2008. It is a cool little hotel. Just like its name pretty Chic. The rooms are on the small side beds very comfortable. Bathrooms are small. Aircon is great. The hotel has Pool, Gym, Resturant/Bar, and free Wi-fi. The location my be a problem for many as it is at the end of the soi, and there is often traffic throughout the day. They have a tuk-tuk that will take you to Robinson's or to Sukhumvit. The pool and gym are small nothing to write home about, the pool is roof top so and usually no one is there so think of it as your private place. Wi-fi is great works on all floors and rooftop, so you can relax and work/surf the net. Food is very good here, expensive but good and you do get comp breakfast. They were running a grand opening special when i was there last @ about 2000B, I hear price is going to be more than double @ 5000B... if it does this hotel no longer a value. Pros: Nice Decorated Rooms, Bed, TV, Pool, Wi-Fi Cons: Shower, Gym, Poss Price Jack up, Room Size If price stays in the low 2000B its a 4 star, I gave it a 3 based on price, it competes well against other 2000B hotels but does not hold a candle to other hotels once you get over 3000B+

I stayed here by due to Dynasty Inn being over booked, the first year it was open it was only 1700B, the deluxe rooms are now 2280B, still a good value. Location is great. Tucked inside the little soi, it has access to both Suk & Soi 4. The rooms are spacious and clean, Aircon works well, beds are a bit on the hard side. The Bathrooms are great, wide big showers (you can fit 4-5 people). Very quiet on higher floors. Mini-Bar (two Free waters per day), Laundry Service, In-Room Safe, GYM, Pool. This is a mid-tier style hotel not a lot of flash but it has a friendly staff always ready to help out. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay. DO NOT get a suite, its only a deluxe with about 10sq Meters (100 Sq. Feet) more. Ask for an extra key card to keep your aircon on while you are away. Pros: Clean, Location, Staff, Bathroom, Pool, Gym Cons: Food Price, Bright Room (curtains are thin) Overall i give a thumbs up.

I stayed there in december 2006. Fairly large rooms, well decorated in the classic "modern asian" style. Service is great and efficient. On the downside : the pool is average (no view, not very big and pretty cold) and the lobby bar is just awful. The overall feeling is more business than leisure and doesn't feel like a real 5 star hotel. I payed about 3600 baht/night, which is fair.

This place is just too hip. It has a bigger brother in NY where the prices/night are above $500, so that should give you an idea about how it is trying to market itself. In BKK the prices are lower though, and for someone who wants to splurge a bit it is a much better deal than Sukhumvit Sheraton Grande for example - if you are youngish and traveling solo. The rooms are small but very hip, modernistic, IKEA-style but more luxurious. Loved the blue lights under the bed. The bathroom is very stylish also. They host all kinds events such as fashion shows, Tv shows, etc, so you may want to be careful not to stagger completely drunk and looking like **** into the dining room after a wild night on the town - there may be a Tv crew there (I did it). The bar is pricey and underwhelming; when I was there they just did not have enough people to fill the huge room. Maybe the place is more popular now, although I am not sure about that. The whole hotel seemed mostly empty when I stayed there (in comparison the NY Dream had a large crowd at lunch time, and the bar seems to be doing good business too). I like the Dream, it is good value for the money. However, I think it would only be of interest to people who are staying in town a couple of nights and want to try something cool and hip and not too far from all the action.

I have not stayed here but I used to live on Soi 8 and chowed down on the BBQ a few times. Great value for the money and a ton of food. Best not to eat lunch and then go home and sleep after. The meat selection is good and they BBQ as you go. Not a huge fan of the some of the Scandinavian stuff but all in all a great all u can eat BBQ meal. Providing the weather is decent hanging by the pool for the meal is pretty nice. You feel somewhat removed from the BKK hustle and bustle.

I stayed here once in 2005 and for such a nice hotel my lasting memory is that the room was very small. I agree with AUK that it feels like a businessman's hotel and lacks the luxurious feel that I associate with really top quality hotels. It has a great position and all the amenities, but doesn't quite live up to the promise if you are on holiday.

I prefer this place to drop my visitors at. It's a quiet, clean, and convenient place in a kind of victorian colonial style. Good Price/Service balance. One minus is the i-net connection in the room is not the best u can wish for. Other Amenities include a Fitness Center and a Rooftop Pool. Pricing moderate.

This was the first hotel I used to stay in over 3 years ago. It stands in an elevated position on Sukhumvit road, ideal for business travellers & tourists alike. Close to Nana BTS. It has a beautiful lobby, friendly staff & decent sized rooms, however it feels too much of a business hotel for my liking nowadays, & there are better & cheaper hotels in the vicinity. Saying that, there is nothing I can say bad about the hotel, barring the Huntsman pub downstairs.Probably one of the best located hotels in Bangkok.

I stayed here for a 5 day stretch towards the end of 2006 before heading to Phuket This is a really nice hotel with a real 'business' feel about it, however doesnt have a full-out 'luxury' feel you get from other 5star hotels in the city. The pool is openair (I forget which floor) with a great view, but is far too small, and the gym is fairly cramped. The food by the pool was really good if a tad expensive, although you'd come to expect that in a city centre hotel. The location has to be the best in Bangkok along with the Sheraton across the road, as its right between Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT station. We had a deluxe suite which was really nice and spacious, however the guy travelling with me was a business travel agent, so we only paid 2,000baht a night for the room as apposed to the 10,000+baht going rate, and I would say I really dont think the room would be worth 10,000baht. Despite the few downsides, its still a very good hotel with an awesome location, with no issues with bringing back 'guests', however it does pale compared to the other 5stars in the city. For the sheer value and luxury The Davis on Suk24 is king IMHO

This is a great hotel, in a great location. I have stayed here many times as a business traveller. The location is close to the expressways, so a quick exit out of town, but also back in. The hotel is very close to the nightlife, if that is what you like, or you can easily avoid it. Having said that the nightlife is entertaining and not too seedy in this area. Across from the hotel lies Soi4, with lots of bars, poolbars, restaurants etc. This is more adult orientated. As I said before, this is easily avoidable by turning left out of the hotel, to the end which brings you on to the main Sukhumvit Road. 5 minutes walk to Ploenchit BTS, or 10 minutes to Nana BTS. Back to the Hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms very clean with great views across the city. I recommend a deluxe room. The breakfast is buffet style with a wide choice of food from around the world. There is a small pool on the 7th floor, same floor as you have breakfast. Not a big pool, but did you come to Bangkok to swim? Adequate for a cool off after a days sightseeing. The major gripe I hear about this hotel is that there are only two lifts. Easy to solve, slow down to the Thai way, we are just always in a hurry! A lovely lobby, light, airy and cool welcomes you to the Majestic Grande.
